This process involves the dye of the yarn after the Ikat designs are tied on the yarns according to the graphs and here the tied up yarn is dipped in cold color dye solutions to give the designs the required colors. This process is repeated using different colored dyes when multi colored design is the required out put. Hence the name Tie and Dye by which Ikat is known all over the world.
