Sankar Kumar Meher a National Award winning handloom designer and Managing Director Mehers Handlooms Pvt.Ltd. and Ikat Exports Pvt.Ltd. explains that all designs created at the studio have to be checked and rechecked before finally applied to production line and highlights the fact that it is extremely important to choose designs and color matching for their range of handloom textiles. In 2007 his Ikat Scarf won the UNESCO Seal of Excellence by an International Panel of juries.
